The August 2019 full moon occurs on 15th August – a full moon in Aquarius (Sun in Leo opposite Moon in Aquarius). It is a day full of surprises, where unconventional behaviour brings more success that being predictable and respecting rules.

The Moon transits the sign of Aquarius, ruled by the unconventional Uranus. Among all planets, Uranus most governs genius. And we all know that genius is unpredictable and often has an eccentric behaviour. There are many examples. The French writer Balzac drank 50 cups of coffee a day. English novelist Mary Shelley kept a domesticated 23-foot-long boa constrictor in her writing studio. Russian-American composer Igor Stravinsky stood on his head for 15 minutes each morning to „clear his brain“.

Of course, eccentricity doesn’t make you genius. But, at least for a day – this special one – you can try it. There are more chances than ever to help.

Unpredictability represents the other key world for this full moon. August 15th is the perfect day to stop being predictable at work, in relationships or in whatever you do. This day, a free spirit will be much more successful than a predictable person. So, surprise your partner, surprise your colleagues and surprise your relatives!

Bellow, you can find a Zen story about being unpredictable:

A Zen Story for 15th August 2019 Full Moon

Zen teachers train their young pupils to express themselves. Two Zen temples each had a child protégé. One child, going to obtain vegetables each morning, would meet the other on the way.

“Where are you going?” asked the one.

“I am going wherever my feet go,” the other responded.

This reply puzzled the first child who went to his teacher for help. “Tomorrow morning,” the teacher told him, “when you meet that little fellow, ask him the same question. He will give you the same answer, and then you ask him: ‘Suppose you have no feet, then where are you going?’ That will fix him.”

The children met again the following morning.

“Where are you going?” asked the first child.

“I am going wherever the wind blows,” answered the other.

This again nonplussed the youngster, who took his defeat to his teacher.

“Ask him where he is going if there is no wind,” suggested the teacher.

The next day the children met a third time.

“Where are you going?” asked the first child.

“I am going to the market to buy vegetables,” the other replied.

The next Full Moon occurs on September 14th – a Full Moon in Pisces (Sun in Virgo opposite Moon in Pisces).

Until then, there is a New Moon in Virgo (Sun conjunct Moon in Virgo), on August 30th. All over the world, excepting America, this is a Black Moon – a second new moon that appears in a calendar month.

The next Full Moon in Aquarius occurs on 3rd August 2020.
