Last year, on May 15th, Uranus entered Taurus for the first time after many years spent in the sign of Aries. Then, the planet stayed in Taurus only from 15th May until 6th November, when it returned to Aries. Now, on March 6th, 2019, Uranus enters Taurus for much more time. This transit will end only after six years and four months, on 7th July 2025, when the planet will enter Gemini.

Uranus is the planet named after the ancient Greek god Uranus, his equivalent in Roman mythology being Caelus. In Ancient Greek literature, Uranus or Father Sky was the son and husband of Gaia, Mother Earth, and together they were the parents of the first generation of Titans and the ancestors of the most important Greek gods.

Uranus in Taurus transit

Although it bears the name of an ancient god, Uranus was unknown in Antiquity and was discovered on March 13, 1781 by the British astronomer and composer William Herschel. The planet is unusual among the planets in that it rotates on its side, so that it presents each of its poles to the Sun in turn during its orbit. In astrology, Uranus is associated with new or unconventional ideas, discoveries, inventions and revolutions, freedom and originality. Uranus also governs societies, clubs, and any group based on progressive ideals.

Uranus in Taurus can be very stubborn. When this tendency is applied to accomplishing a difficult task, all goes well. Jane Austed best expressed this idea: „There is a stubbornness about me that never can bear to be frightened at the will of others. My courage always rises at every attempt to intimidate me“. On the other hand, by constantly refusing to accept someone else’s point of view, stubborn people miss opportunities to grow and change.
